🎶 Volunteer Opportunity: Club Cashier

  • Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)
    Time Commitment: 6–8 hours per week of the 12 concert events, 1 hour/week in between concerts, occasional additional hours
    Term: Minimum 1-year commitment

Are you innovative, enthusiastic, and excited about live music?

The Calgary Folk Club is seeking a dedicated Club Cashier to join our volunteer team! This is a great opportunity to contribute your financial and organizational skills to a vibrant, community-driven music venue with a legacy of over 50 years.

💼 What You’ll Do:

As Club Cashier, you’ll work closely with our Treasurer, Ticketing and Artistic Directors to support the “night of” financial operations of the club. This includes handling payments and reimbursements, recording sales, and supporting event operations on concert nights. You’ll help ensure smooth financial processes while enjoying the music you love.

  • Help manage cash and card payments at concerts
  • Keep track of sales and payouts
  • Use our point-of-sale system (we’ll show you how)
  • Support our Treasurer with money-related tasks
  • Be on-site for our 12 concert nights (they’re the best part!)

⏰ Time & Place:

  • 6–8 hours per week of the 12 concert events, 1 hour/week in between concerts, occasional additional hours
  • Hybrid role (some remote tasks + on-site at concerts)
  • Must live in or near Calgary, Alberta – our concerts are at the Dalhousie Community Centre
  • Venue is accessible by public transit, though a driver’s license and reliable vehicle are recommended

  • Have experience handling cash (retail, banking, or similar)
  • Are organized, responsible, and friendly
