Pharis & Jason’s Romero’s 2022 album Tell ‘Em You Were Gold on Smithsonian Folkways was recorded in an old barn they converted into a studio in rustic Horsefly, BC, where Pharis is a fifth-generation resident. The inspiration for this project was the sounds of Jason’s diverse range of handmade banjos.
